The Tata Curvv, a rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, is all set to launch by the end of this year. Tata just revealed a near-production-ready unit for the internal combustion engine (ICE) version at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo and also confirmed a new 1.5-litre diesel engine for it. In this story, we take a look at all the design details of the Curvv SUV in 6 images:
The front of the Curvv is rather similar to that of the existing Tata SUV line. The connected LED DRLs are the same as the Nexon EV’s, while the inserts on the grille and air dams, and even the headlight housing is similar to the Harrier and Safari SUVs. A silver skid plate at the bottom adds a slight contrast to the piano black elements on the bumper.
In profile, the coupe-esque roofline grabs your attention, as do the chic 18-inch alloy wheels. It gets some piano black cladding elements, which also outline the huge wheel arches. If retained in the production model, the flush door handles will be a segment-first feature in the compact SUV space.
The Curvv has a high rake in its unloaded stance, meaning that the rear seems to be sitting quite high in comparison to the dipping front end. Now this could be a pre-production design detail or just something Tata has done to accommodate for the squat, which will come into play when there are rear passengers and luggage in the boot.
The styling at the rear of the Curvv is also more upright compared to the front. The windscreen flows aggressively into the trunk, while there’s also a roof spoiler finished in glossy piano black. The same shade is also seen on the bumper, which gets a silver skid plate at the bottom – just like the front bumper does. The main detail here is the full-width horizontal LED taillight, which will get the welcome and goodbye animations like the newer Tata SUVs.

The Curvv also claims to offer a generous amount of boot space with a capacity of 422 litres.
We also managed to get a peek inside the Curvv on display, spotting a Nexon-like dashboard design, dominated by a big infotainment system touchscreen. The updated steering wheel has been nabbed from the facelifted Harrier and you can also expect touch-sensitive climate controls. It should pack all the features, if not more, that are offered in the facelifted Nexon, and maybe even a few from the Harrier. You can head here to know about the possible features and the confirmed powertrain options for the Curvv SUV.
The next time we see the Tata Curvv ICE model on a stage should be for the market launch which is expected later this year. It could be priced from around the Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. An electric alternative is expected to follow soon after. The Curvv SUV will be poised as a stylish SUV-coupe alternative to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Skoda Kushaq.
