We recently came across a beautifully modified Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 turned into a Scrambler by STG Tracker, a custom house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The bike has undergone a lot of changes that makes it look and ride like a scrambler.
STG Tracker has given the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 a brand new paint scheme with a triple-tone dark grey, black, and light blue finish on the tank. The front fender has been swapped out for a raised one, similar to the ones we typically see on off-road motorcycles. The seat has been changed with a custom leather one, with a tan colour. Itslight colour also draws a lot of attention.
The bike has also received a new engine crash guard and a rerouted exhaust setup, with an SC Project muffler and a custom made aluminium shield. STG has also given this Interceptor a tail rack for mounting panniers. This build gets a 5-litre jerry can for carrying fuel, which will definitely come in handy when going far off the roads. Other changes include the addition of a new single-pod instrument console with a digital inset.
Now, looks are just one part of the overall picture. To make this bike into a functional scrambler, there have been a lot of changes. The stock handlebar has made way for a raised, wider handlebar. This will give the rider a lot more leverage when riding off road.
The suspension setup has also been modified quite a bit with the stock telescopic fork being swapped out for an inverted fork. The bike’s swingarm has also been changed to the one from the KTM 390 Adventure, but cut down to match the Interceptor’s wheelbase.
The stock tyres were decent for a road bike, but to go off-road you need something more. To address this, STG Tracker has given the Interceptor 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, with Metzeler Karoo tyres, which should be suitable for both on-road and off-road riding.
Lastly, the engine on this bike is not the typical 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel twin engine that we have come to see on most Royal Enfield Interceptor 650s. This one is now an 865cc thanks to the 865cc big-bore kit and camshaft from S&S Cycle.
STG Tracker also added a Rekluse clutch and a K&N high-flow air filter. So performance wise, this bike here will likely make a lot more power than the stock Interceptor 650, which, for perspective, produces 47PS and 52Nm.
Overall, this build is definitely one of the best scrambler ones we have come across and what makes it special is the fact that the modifications go beyond looks and the bike can handle off-road trials like a real scrambler.
