Tata has updated its flagship SUVs – the Safari and the Harrier – with their first design overhaul. And with the update comes new features and updated styling. We have listed down top 10 new features that Tata has updated in their flagship offerings.
Tata’s 10.25-inch digital driver’s display made its debut in the Nexon and contains all the information that is required by the driver. It’s heavily customisable and can also display contextual information depending on the situation. The best bit is that it can relay the navigation – Google Maps and Apple Maps – from the infotainment on to the screen.
This new infotainment system is not just bigger but also positioned to be visible to the driver as well. It gets an updated user interface, has a much slicker user interface, and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This comfort feature allows the driver and co-driver to set up the AC as per their preference. This allows better comfort for the occupants over long journeys. So, no fighting between the driver and other occupants over their preferred temperature.
With the addition of the knee airbag, the Harrier/Safari SUVs now offer a total of 7 airbags. This additional airbag protects the knees of the driver in a mishap.
Tata is offering not just an electrically operating tailgate but also one that opens using a gesture by waving your leg underneath the bumper. This is handy when your hands are full after shopping and you need to open the boot, hands-free.
Another feature that further improves the comfort of the occupants of the SUV is rear sunshades. It protects the rear passengers from the harsh sunlight and offers an added dose of privacy from prying eyes.
The 4-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat makes it easy to adjust the seat to offer the best comfort. It was earlier offered in just the Safari, and now makes its way to the Harrier with this update.
As a part of the ADAS suite, Tata has now bolstered it with the addition of Adaptive Cruise Control. It maintains not just the preset speed but also ensures sufficient distance with the vehicle in front. It helps drivers have a fatigue-free journey on long expressway trips.
Tata is now offering a 10-speaker JBL system to elevate the audio experience of the passengers. The system has a subwoofer and AudioworX along with 13 JBL modes.
The improved lighting not only helps with the on-road visibility at night but also lends a distinct visual identity to the SUVs. For instance, the front and rear light bars are not only an aesthetic element but functional as well, with the welcome and goodbye lighting sequence on these light bars. Also, both models now get LED headlights as standard across the lineup.
