Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most loved hatchbacks in the country ever since its debut in 2005. The recently launched Swift in its fourth-gen avatar has garnered a lot of interest lately, as it topped the hatchback sales chart in the month of May 2024 with over 19,393 units sold across the country.

Since its launch in 2016, the Tata Tiago has gained a lot of popularity in the mass market hatch-back segment. With its facelift, Tata introduced the Tiago with multiple transmission and fuel options including CNG and even an EV version of it. For the month of May 2024, Tata has sold over 5,927 Tiagos, making it the top-fifth highest selling hatchbacks in the country. This number includes sales of both ICE Tiago and Tiago EV.

The Tata Tiago gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 86 PS and 113 Nm, while the output drops to 73 PS and 95 Nm in CNG mode. Both the powertrains can be had with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. 

The Tata Tiago EV gets an option of two battery packs: a 19.2kWh battery pack, which helps the motor produce 61 PS and 110 Nm and deliver claimed mileage of 250 km; and a 24kWh battery pack which helps the motor produce 75 PS and 114 Nm with a claimed mileage of 315 km. 

The Tata Tiago features a 7-inch infotainment system with an 8-speaker premium Harman sound system, automatic climate control, and rain-sensing wipers. Safety features encompass dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and corner stability control. 

The Tiago is available in five broad trims and five colour options to choose from, while the Tiago EV is offered in 4 broad trims and 6 colours to choose from.
