The sales report for May 2024 is out, and we've identified the top 5 best-selling SUVs in India, all with a starting price under Rs 10 lakh. Leading the sales chart is the Tata Punch, with the Mahindra XUV 3XO experiencing the highest surge in monthly sales. Here’s how each of them performed in May 2024 sales:

The Tata Punch, which started the micro SUV segment in India, has been one of the most popular models since its launch in 2021. Tata currently offers the Punch in both ICE and EV versions, and together it crossed the sales of 18,900 units.
Price Range: Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 10.20 lakh (Punch ICE) / Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (Punch EV)

The ICE version of the Tata Punch comes loaded with features like a 7-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch semi-digital driver’s display, and a single-pane sunroof. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual front airbags, rear parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine which makes 88 PS and 115 Nm, and can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The Punch is also available with an optional CNG powertrain with a reduced output (73.5 PS and 103 Nm), only being offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Punch EV on other hand gets additional features over its ICE counterpart, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, and ventilated front seats. Its safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera. The Punch EV is available with two battery pack options: 25 kWh and 35 kWh. Maruti has equipped the Brezza with features like a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker Arkamys-tuned sound system, paddle shifters (AT variants), a sunroof, wireless phone charging, cruise control, automatic AC with rear vents and a heads-up display. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine (103 PS and 137 Nm) mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Maruti also offers the Brezza in CNG but with a reduced output of 88 PS and 121.5 Nm, only available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Fronx is a subcompact crossover SUV which shares its underpinnings with the Baleno. It crossed the sales mark of 12,500 units in May 2024.

1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine (90 PS/113 Nm), available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
The CNG variants use the 1.2-litre engine, producing 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm, and paired with a 5-speed manual.
Just like the Tata Punch, the Nexon also comes in both ICE and EV variants. Including both, the Nexon has surpassed the sales of 11,000 units in May 2024.
