The Hyundai Creta continues to take top position in its segment with over 14,000 units sold in May 2024. It’s the only model in this report to have five digit sales figures. In January, Hyundai released the Creta facelift with revised looks, a brand new cabin, plentiful feature additions and a more powerful turbo-petrol engine. A sportier Creta N Line version was introduced later on.
Top features in the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof and a Bose sound system.
Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control and most importantly, ADAS.
The Creta is offered with three engine options: a 115 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, a 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter and a 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with a 7-speed DCT. The Creta N Line also gets a choice of a 6-speed manual with the turbo-petrol engine and mechanical tweaks for a more involving drive.
Taking second place in this report is the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which has sold around 9.700 units. The Grand Vitara is Maruti’s first shot in the compact SUV segment and has been one of the popular offerings ever since.
Features on board the Grand Vitara include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, cruise control, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a wireless phone charger.

The former can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while the latter comes with an e-CVT. A brownie point for the Grand Vitara is that the standard petrol engine comes with optional all-wheel drive.
The Kia Seltos takes third spot here with a sales of around 6,700 units in May. Like the Creta, the Seltos received a mid-life refresh in 2023, packing in refreshed looks, a tweaked cabin and feature additions. In 2024, Kia also re-introduced the manual gearbox option with the Seltos’ diesel engine.
Notable features on the Kia Seltos include dual 10.25-inch displays including a touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose sound system, powered driver’s seat and a wireless phone charger.
