The past week unraveled mysteries about several upcoming cars, with first looks, teasers and price announcements. An important affordable EV was launched, but on the opposite end of the price spectrum, two premium SUVs were launched as well.

MG announced the prices of its smallest EV in India, the Comet. The compact EV offers a 230km range and seating for four seats. It features a minimalist interior design with equipment such as dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and driver’s instrumentation; and connected car tech. The Maruti Fronx SUV has been a hotly anticipated SUV ever since it was first showcased at Auto Expo 2023. We got our first proper look at the upcoming Citroen compact SUV for India, the C3 Aircross, at its global unveiling this week. The SUV, although derived from the same platform as the C3, looks nothing like the hatchback and bears a proper SUV stance. Find the full details:
Porsche quietly listed the facelifted Cayenne SUV’s prices on its India website. The SUV gets an overhauled front-end styling alongside a completely new interior and multiple feature additions. On the bright side, the Cayenne’s prices haven’t increased by as much as you would expect.
The Tata Nexon is about to get a comprehensive overhaul with revised aesthetics inside-out and multiple new features added. Under the skin, the SUV is expected to get a new, more powerful turbo-petrol powerplant, paired with a potent dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
We also got our first look at Hyundai’s upcoming micro SUV in a design sketch. The Exter is quite different from the Casper micro SUV sold overseas, and bears a distinct, boxy styling with H-shaped LED DRLs and split headlights.
Maruti has a new MPV based on the Toyota Innova Hycross in the works, and it’s set to break cover sooner than we had expected. We expect it’ll feature some styling changes over the Toyota MPV and will offer a larger and more premium people mover than Maruti’s existing MPVs, the Ertiga and XL6.
The VW Group-owned Czech carmaker Skoda revealed its plans to launch new vehicles in the coming years. The carmaker has a total of six EVs coming by 2026, but importantly, new iterations of ICE vehicles such as the Kodiaq and Superb are also in the pipeline.
