With Auto Expo 2023 over, there was a short lull last week with fewer than usual launches. But this week, things got back up and running with some major models receiving updates. Moreover, we also got a look at an upcoming mass-market EV and the prices of another affordable e-SUV.
For all that and more from last week that you may have missed, here’s our weekly roundup of car news:
Citroen gave us a first look at its first electric car for India. To put it simply, the eC3 is the electric version of the C3 hatchback, so the overall aesthetics and features list are familiar. If you can’t wait for the eC3 EV to be launched in February, check out our first-impressions review below:
In its first mid-life update, the Grand i10 Nios received a nosejob and now looks sportier than ever. It gets a single 1.2-litre petrol engine that you can have with a manual and automatic transmission. The stick shift variant is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
Ahead of opening the order books for its first electric SUV, Mahindra has announced the XUV400 EV’s full price list. It’ll be available in two variants, standard-range EC and long-range EL, with a range of up to 375km and 456km, respectively.
The updated BMW flagship SUV arrived with a controversial front-end styling that’s sure to ‘split’ opinions. Nevertheless, it now gets a BMW Curved Display with the latest i-Drive 8 OS, alongside a pair of powerful petrol and diesel engines with mild-hybrid tech.
The long-wheelbase Bentayga EWB SUV arrived in India with an even more opulent backseat. The elongated rear doors open up to a plush set of Airline Seats with their own climate control system and Posture Control!
Soon after the Mahindra XUV400 EV’s arrival, Tata announced an update for its stalwart electric SUV, the Nexon EV, which will go head-to-head with the XUV400. While the standard-range Nexon EV Prime gets a price cut, the long-range Nexon EV Max gets a longer range as well, thanks to a software update that’ll later be rolled out for existing Nexon EV Max buyers as well.
