Toyota has trademarked the ‘Taisor’ name in the country. The Japanese carmaker’s next launches for our market will be the upcoming Innova Hycross strong-hybrid MPV and the next-generation Urban Cruiser that will be based on the second-generation Brezza. So what could the Taisor name be for?
For starters, Maruti Suzuki is developing a crossover version of the Baleno, which will slot below the Grand Vitara. Chances are that this particular model could also be shared with Toyota, which could probably be reserving the moniker Taisor for its own version of the same.
Another probability could be that this moniker might be used for the next-generation Urban Cruiser. Considering that the same name is now used by Toyota’s compact SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the brand could be looking to give the sub-four-metre SUV a different name. And well, the carmaker could have trademarked the Taisor name for this particular model.

But regardless of the model, it would be a while before we could see the Taisor name used in India. A trademark also necessarily doesn’t mean that the manufacturer will particularly use that name. For instance, the Belta name was trademarked for the Toyota-badged version of the Maruti Ciaz to be exported from India.

The next new Toyota that will soon hit our roads is the Innova Hycross, which is very much different from the Crysta that will be sold alongside. The Innova Hycross will be based on a new monocoque platform and will be powered by a strong-hybrid powertrain option. Prices are expected to start around Rs 20 lakh and you can find more details here.
