Ultraviolette F99 Unveiled in India

Ultraviolette has unveiled the F99 Factory Racing Platform in India, and the brand is planning on setting 2 records using this bike in the coming days. The first record the brand is planning on setting is for the highest top speed achieved by an Indian bike and the second record is for the fastest quarter mile (402m) timing by an Indian bike.

The F99 Factory Racing Platform is the brand’s most powerful electric bike and it was first unveiled at EICMA, Milan 2023. The F99 is powered by a 90kW liquid-cooled motor, which offers a claimed top speed of 265kmph and a 0-100kmph claimed acceleration of 3 seconds. For perspective, the Yamaha R6 which produces a similar power output of 90kW/120PS has a claimed 0-100kmph acceleration of 3.35 seconds.

Ultraviolette F99 Design

The bike comes with an unconventional looking design, which looks quite aggressive. The brand says that the design takes inspiration from supersonic jets and this is evident thanks to the winglets and air ducts on the fairing, front cowl and the side panel.

Ultraviolette has also given the bike what they call ‘Active Aerodynamics’. This means that the fairings are electronically actuated and adapt to changes in lean angle in real time, to enhance downward force, similar to how flaps on an aeroplane work.

The bike is suspended on an inverted fork and monoshock suspension setup, and rolls on 17-inch alloys with 120-section front and 180-section rear tyres. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends. The bike has a kerb weight of 178kg, which makes it 19kg lighter than the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2.

With the recent challenge CEO of Ultraviolette, Narayan Subramaniam sent to Bajaj Auto’s MD Rajeev Bajaj, Ultraviolette is eager to prove that their offerings are solid. Setting two records is surely a good way to do it.
