The House Of Noale’s mud-slinging Tuareg 660 is on the cards

Last year, Aprilia not just updated its SR range of scooters, but also introduced the 660 twins and the new V4 twins in India. With the mid-displacement naked and supersport on sale here, it only makes sense to have their mud-slinging sibling on our shores too.

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is likely to be the only launch in India from the Italian manufacturer in 2022. The maxi-enduro style ADV is a proper off-road hooligan, featuring a 43mm USD fork and a monoshock with 240mm travel at both ends. It even features Brembo brakes and knobbies for better traction off the tarmac. Aprilia has used the same engine as the Tuono 660 and RS 660, but tuned it to produce 80PS and 70Nm, 20PS less and 3Nm more than its siblings.

Just like its siblings, the Tuareg 660 will flaunt electronic aids, including three riding modes, four-level traction control, three-level engine braking, and switchable ABS. Aprilia has also equipped the bike with a TFT instrument console and smartphone connectivity.

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 will likely arrive in India in the second half of 2022. Its primary competition in the country will be the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT. However, considering this bike will come to our shores via the CBU route – much like its siblings – expect it to cost as much as the Triumph Tiger 900 GT. That said, the GT isn’t a hardcore off-roader like the Aprilia.
