Husqvarna Motorcycles has teased a higher capacity Svartpilen, likely the Svartpilen 901, ahead of its launch abroad on March 5, 2024. Also, the motorcycle has been spied recently in production-ready form.
In the teaser, the Svartpilen 901 can be seen sliding around on a flat track, highlighting the bike’s scrambler nature. From the spy shots, we can see that the scrambler gets the typical Husqvarna minimalistic styling with the fuel tank having protrusions near the top and ample space underneath them to tuck your legs in for gripping the bike. All the lighting on the Svartpilen, including the headlight, tail light and turn indicators are LED units.
The Svartpilen 901 is based on the KTM 890 Duke R and we can see that it gets the same main frame and bolt-on aluminium subframe. That said, even though the bolt-on points of the subframe are the same, it looks quite different compared to the 890 Duke R. The swingarm and exhaust routing from the engine are also similar. It gets dual disc brakes at the front with radial calipers, single disc brake at the rear, adjustable inverted fork from WP Suspension and a monoshock.
Powering the scrambler will be the same 889cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine found in the KTM 890 Duke R, producing 121PS and 99Nm.

Triumph Scrambler 1200 X Scrambles Into Triumph’s India Lineup
As mentioned above, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 901 will be launched abroad on March 5, 2024, it is highly unlikely that the scrambler will make its way to India. KTM doesn’t have any of its big capacity bikes like the 890 Duke R on sale in India. And Husqvarna still hasn’t been able to find its footing in the Indian market with their offerings so far. The Swedish manufacturer is hoping for a bigger market penetration this time with its new launches. So, for now, the Svartpilen 901 will just be an eye candy for us.
