Upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: New Design Details Revealed

The new photo of the bike has revealed some new deets about the bike

Coming Soon

Quick Highlights

  • New design patent image revealed

  • It confirms what we have reported so far about the bike

  • And it also reveals some new things

The Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 will be based on the brand’s well-accepted 650 platform, and is expected soon. While we have earlier seen the bike in flesh, being tested, the new design patent images confirm our speculations about its design and some features.

First things first, this looks quite like a retro-scrambler, and nothing like the Scram 411. With that out of the way, this scrambler follows a design language similar to the Interceptor 650. At the front, this gets a 19-inch spoked wheel with a disc brake, a circular LED headlight, LED indicators and the circular TFT console from the Himalayan 450. However, as we have seen earlier, the front brake disc has a simple design as compared to the Interceptor’s. This too misses out on the inverted fork, and gets a conventional telescopic fork.

Moving to the fuel tank, it seems to miss the knee recesses that the Interceptor has. While it will have the same 650cc parallel-twin engine, it gets a 2-into-1 exhaust with a stubbier end-can, which should change its exhaust note. Also, the right side-panel has been replaced by an oval shaped race-number plate – a quintessential scrambler design element.

On the rear, the Scrambler 650 seems to be equipped with a 17-inch spoked wheel and has a slightly raised mudguard under the seat. The seat also appears to be more premium and has a grab belt. The rear grab-rail looks similar to the one on the Int 650, but appears to be taller on this one. The tail light is circular, like other Royal Enfield bikes, but it's flanked by the same, sleek indicators as on the front.

It’s likely that the Scrambler 650 will have two or more variants, with varying features and colour options, as we have seen with its siblings. On that note, we can expect Royal Enfield to launch it at their MotoVerse festival, which will be held in November 2024. Its pricing could be somewhere between Rs 3.4 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the Interceptor 650 is priced from Rs 3,03,000 to Rs 3,31,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai).

The next launch from Royal Enfield, after the Guerrilla 450, is expected to be the updated Classic 350 and the Bobber, sometime in August 2024.
