The Yamaha Tenere is getting its first generational change in five years. With all the changes on the spied Tenere, Yamaha seems to have heard the woes of its Tenere customers. The spy shots from Europe reveal updates to the bike’s front, seat, and rear suspension.
The new Tenere is seen with a new headlight cluster that is quite different from the familiar four-pod LED cluster that it was famous for. The new headlight has a segmented LED unit.
From the side, a narrower seat is clearly visible on this Tenere. The existing Yamaha Tenere customers have reportedly complained for a while about the seat being too soft, and the updated one could finally resolve those woes. On the rear, the upcoming Tenere is seen with a new link-type suspension which should be more progressive and offer increased travel.
Apart from these, no other changes can be seen on this test mule. We don’t expect any major changes on the 689cc CP2 twin-cylinder engine either. The updated Tenere 700 should be launched early 2025 in foreign markets, with possibly a showcase at EICMA 2024. The Yamaha Tenere rivals the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE and Honda XL750 Transalp, both of which are on sale in India. Yamaha India is mulling over the launch of its big bike range that’s available internationally. However these could be limited to only the 900cc bikes for now.
