Volkswagen has axed the Vento’s base-spec Comfortline and top-spec Highline Plus MT variants, priced at Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.06 lakh (both ex-showroom) respectively. Customers are now left with an option of two trims on the sedan, including one Matte Edition alternative. Alongside, the carmaker is working on the Vento’s successor, likely to be called the Virtus, which will break cover in March.
Here is the Vento’s current variant lineup:
Variant |
Price, Status |
Comfortline |
Rs 9.99 lakh (Discontinued) |
Highline MT |
Rs 10 lakh |
Highline AT |
Rs 13.01 lakh |
Highline Plus MT |
Rs 13.06 lakh (Discontinued) |
Highline Plus AT |
Rs 14.44 lakh |
This variant discontinuation has trimmed down options for MT buyers. The Vento is powered by a sole 110PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. However, the MT is now limited to the new base-spec Highline trim.
On the feature front, the decade-old Vento fares well with a touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, steering-mounted audio controls, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, rear parking sensors, up to four airbags, and ABS.
With a minimal difference in the base pricing, Volkswagen now retails the Vento from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). If you need more options, you can check out the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, and the Skoda Rapid.
*All prices ex-showroom Delhi
