Volkswagen India has increased the prices of its three principal offerings: the Polo, Vento, and Taigun. The German carmaker has cited rising input and operational costs as the reason behind the move. Fortunately, the recently launched facelifted Tiguan remains unaffected, retailing from Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India) onwards.

Save for the Comfortline and Highline MT, which have been spared the hike, the Vento’s prices have gone up by up to Rs 29,000.
The Vento will be phased out soon. It will be replaced by the Slavia’ successor, likely to be called the Virtus.
In related news, Skoda recently increased prices of the Kushaq SUV. Check out the details in this story. Also, if you’re keen on buying the Virtus, here are five things you can expect from the upcoming sedan.
