Volkswagen has enhanced the safety of the Taigun and Virtus by giving six airbags as standard across all variants.
Both the Taigun and Virtus earlier received a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP safety crash test.
Available in both 1- and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines with manual, automatic and DSG transmissions on offer.
With almost all car brands offering 6 airbags as standard, Volkswagen has decided not to stay behind the curve and update both the Virtus and Taigun with the standard safety feature. This addition will further improve the safety quotient of these two German cars, which have already passed with flying colours in the Global NCAP safety crash test.
Other safety equipment includes: electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a reverse parking camera.

The Taigun SUV is priced from Rs 11.69 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Virtus is priced from Rs 11.55 lakh to Rs 19.40 lakh (ex-showroom). A point to note is that the safety upgrade has not led to an increase in price.
The Taigun rivals the likes of the Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Virtus locks horns with the Honda City, Skoda Slavia and Hyundai Verna.
