Good news for those who had an eye on the Taigun Trail Edition as it’s priced same as the standard GT trim. However, if you want one, we would suggest you to be quick as it’s be on shelves for a limited time only.
The easiest way to tell that this is the Taigun Trail Edition is the side profile. It gets roof racks and funky body decals with ‘TRAIL’ lettering. Additionally, it boasts 17-inch black alloy wheels, blacked out ORVMs and ‘TRAIL’ badge on the tailgate. As for colour choices, you can have the Trail Edition in Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver and Candy White colour options.
Inside, the Taigun Trail Edition gets a couple of upgrades over the standard GT variant such as leatherette upholstery with ‘Trail’ badging on the seats. And to add a dose of sportiness, Volkswagen has equipped it with steel pedals. It also gets puddle lamps projecting the VW logo and most importantly, a dual dash camera setup.

Since this isn’t based on the top-end variant, you don’t get niceties such as ventilated front seats, digital driver’s display and a sunroof. However, it is still well equipped as it gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, ambient lighting, cruise control and automatic climate control.
Its safety features include ABS with EBD, dual airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, reverse parking camera with sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition gets just one powertrain option: a 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission option. However, you cannot have the Taigun Trail edition with the 7-speed DCT automatic transmission offered with the 1.5-litre TSI or the smaller 1-litre three-cylinder engine.
The Volkswagen Taigun Trail edition locks horns with the Hyundai Creta Adventure, Kia Seltos X-Line, Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, and MG Astor Black Storm.
