Save for the recently launched facelifted Tiguan, all models will be affected by this hike
  • Margin of hike will range from two percent to five percent.

  • Rise in input and operational costs has been cited as the reason behind the price increment.

  • Updated prices to be applicable from January 2022.

With the new year right around the corner, Volkswagen India has announced that you’ll have to shell out a little more dough for all of its models, except the recently launched Tiguan. The carmaker has cited the rising input and operational costs as the reason for this step. The new prices will take effect from January 2022.

The price increment will range between two and five percent, depending on the model and variant chosen. It will be applicable on the Polo, Vento, and the Taigun. As the facelifted Tiguan was launched a few weeks back, it has been exempted from this hike.

Volkswagen will roll out the updated price list on January 1. That said, here’s a handy table to give you an idea of how much you pay for each VW model currently:

Model

Current Pricing

Polo

Rs 6.32 to Rs 9.99 lakh

Vento

Rs 9.99 to Rs 14.50 lakh

Taigun

Rs 10.54 to Rs 17.54 lakh

Tiguan

Rs 31.99 lakh

Alongside VW, other carmakers including Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Skoda, Citroen and Audi have also announced a price hike across their lineup due to the rise in input costs.
