Senna GTR is a track-only version of Mclaren Senna.
Is limited to just 75 units worldwide.
Australian Businessman Adrian Portelli lifted his Senna GTR to his 57th floor penthouse.
The Mclaren Senna GTR- a track-only hypercar, limited to just 75 units worldwide, deserves a spot where it receives the awe and attention it should. And while most would think that would be on a track, devouring lap times and fighting to scrape off that tenth of a second, this one owner decided it would be fitting in his drawing room, literally.
Adrian Portelli, a businessman from Melbourne, went to troubling heights to house his Mclaren Senna inside his AU$39-million (Rs 214 crore) 57th floor penthouse. His reasoning was that the car couldn't be driven on the roads anyway and was just eating dust sitting in a factory, so giving it a space inside his penthouse would give it the title that it deserves.
Now, we aren’t too sure whether this move is fair play to the car and the engineers that worked on it, but well, rich people do crazy rich people stuff and it isn’t like we can do anything about it. So, we guess, a drawing room display is still better than a behind the curtains, factory storage thingy.
While the base Mclaren Senna in itself is an incredible piece of machinery, the GTR iteration is as serious as a Senna can get. Its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 825PS and 800Nm. But these numbers aren’t where the magic lies.

With constraints and road-going norms and restrictions out the window, Mclaren has scrapped every unnecessary bit out from the standard Senna. As a result, weight has been reduced significantly. The aerodynamic flow of the car has also been tweaked with reworked body parts that work holistically with just one outcome in mind - increased downforce. And downforce it gets, so much so that its peak downforce exceeds 1,000kg.

With such a potent powertrain paired to a capable downforce laden chassis, we can’t help but lament over the sheer amount of wasted potential as it won’t probably have its tires touch the tarmac ever again. But then, you never know it with such rich people, as he could well just crane it down again if he feels like. Guess money does buy happiness, or atleast, it gets you the freedom to do anything. And freedom = happiness? So money = happiness? We don’t know, we’ve lost the plot at this point.
