The Japanese carmaker says the Elevate has undergone internal crash testing and it is engineered to meet tougher safety tests

  • Honda Elevate has been crash tested internally.
  • Both the body and its safety features have been put through multiple tests.
  • Elevate’s safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control and ADAS.
  • Prices to be announced in the first week of September.

The Honda Elevate is all set to be launched in India in the first week of September. With safety becoming more of a priority for many new car buyers, Honda promises the Elevate is up to the task and will perform well in crash safety tests. In fact, the compact SUV has been put through stringent crash tests internally.

A few of these tests include front offset and barrier test, rear moving barrier test and side pole impact test. Not only that, the carmaker also tested the Elevate’s safety features, including airbags, seat belt pretensioners and the child seat dummy using ISOFIX anchorage points.

Honda reckons the Elevate is engineered to meet even tougher tests than the existing norms. As a global offering, it will have to perform well in all sorts of stringent assessment programs. Currently, the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun are one of the safest offerings in its segment, securing a full 5-star rating in the revamped Global NCAP safety tests. Can the Elevate beat that? Let’s hope for the best.

The Elevate does get a strong safety suite, including up to six airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors and a camera. It also gets ADAS, whose suite consists of lane keeping assist, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. Do note, cars with ADAS get brownie points in safety tests.
