At long last, the five-door variant of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny made its debut at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023. And if you have your eyes set on it, there’s more good news. Maruti Suzuki has commenced the bookings for the Jimny today and the token amount has been set at Rs 11,000. The off-roader will be sold via the carmaker’s premium NEXA outlets.
Maruti Suzuki has also revealed info on the SUV’s variants of which there are only two: Zeta and Alpha. Both will be offered with the option of a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission.
Further, the SUV will be offered in the following colour options: Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, NEXA Blue, Bluish Black And Pearl Arctic White. It also gets Kinetic Yellow hue (offered only as a dual tone), while the Sizzling Red gets the option of a black roof.
Powering the Jimny is Maruti’s older 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine putting out 104PS and 134Nm. Four-wheel drive comes as standard and a low-range transfer case is present for better off-roading prowess. The above image should give you a fair idea of the off-roading stats of the SUV.
In terms of features, the Jimny gets a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and power windows. Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and hill-hold and hill descent control.
