“Wind Control Aesthetics.” That’s how Yinwei Bicose puts across the design behind its first electric scooter: the Real 5T. It is a sharp maxi scooter with neat design elements that give you the impression of riding on air.
The teal panels certainly help accentuate that feel, as the wavy mid-section looks seamless from nose to tail. Everything looks premiumly put together, the silver metal finish panels gelling well with the black plastics.
The split LED headlight gives the scooter an animalistic face. It isn’t as flared as the BMW C 400 GT or the upcoming Keeway GT270, but rather sleek and compact at the front like the Honda X-ADV. The Real 5T, though, has quite a tall and prominent spine, which is likely to protect the large battery pack. Yinwei claims that the e-scooter can gobble up a full face helmet and a half face one too, so one shouldn’t have any storage complaints.
Motor and battery specs haven’t been shared at the moment. However, Yinwei claims it will be able to reach speeds in excess of 100kmph, and that should be a bare minimum considering the build. It does have a unique aluminium four-link rear suspension with an equally stunning rear hub design, giving it a very sci-fi vibe.
Given the trajectory of current e-scooters, we aren’t surprised if more of such innovations are in store for us. Only thing that matters, though, is just how useful these inventions will turn out to be for the majority of buyers who would rather have something that is more functional than fancy.
