Nissan is finally adding a new car in its Indian lineup alongside the lonely little Magnite sub-4m SUV. The new car in question is the fourth-gen X-Trail full-size SUV, which is going to be launched as a CBU (full import) in early August. It hasn’t been a full week since its debut in India, and select dealerships have already started to take orders for the new SUV.
But before you rush to the nearest dealership, take a look at all its details:
Nissan X-Trail Design
The X-Trail is a fairly huge SUV and its styling elements make it look even bigger. The chunky V-shaped grille takes a lot of real estate up front, and is flanked by a split headlight setup. The side profile gets some cladding around the wheel arches and side sills. It sits on 20-inch alloys and you get silver roof rails that add to the overall height.
The rear boasts wrap-around tailights and even a small roof-mounted spoiler. The design is finished with a dual tone for the bumper.
Nissan X-Trail Cabin and Features
The India-spec X-Trail is available in a single 7-seater layout, which boasts an all black theme with fabric upholstery. The features are plenty with a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and dual-zone AC, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger and paddle shifters.
The 2nd row gets a reclining and sliding function with 40/20/40 split functionality for practicality. As for the safety kit, it gets 7 airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, rain-sensing wipers, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Nissan X-Trail Powertrain
Nissan is not offering any strong hybrid powertrain for the X-Trail. Instead, we get a three-cylinder 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 12V mild-hybrid tech.
It puts out 163PS and 300Nm and is geared using a CVT automatic gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels only.
Nissan X-Trail Price and Rivals
Nissan is likely to launch the X-Trail within the first week of August, where it could be priced at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
