Honda has recently launched the Amaze with a generational update. The sub-4m sedan now in its third-generation is offered at prices ranging from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, the brand hasn’t completely bid farewell to the outgoing model yet, as dealerships continue to sell existing stock.
If you’re considering purchasing a Honda sedan and don’t mind opting for the previous-generation model to save on costs, we’ve compiled all the essential details about the second-gen Amaze that you need to make an informed decision below.
The outgoing Honda Amaze is available in three main trims: E, S, and VX. The S and VX trims are also offered in updated versions featuring enhanced safety features, which come at a slight premium. Additionally, the VX trim gets an exclusive Elite Edition, adding a touch of distinction to the lineup.

Honda is currently offering discounts of up to Rs 1.12 lakh on the Amaze. However, stocks are limited and expected to run out soon, so interested buyers should act quickly to secure their purchase.
The outgoing Honda Amaze was produced in five exterior colors: Lunar Silver, Radiant Red, Platinum White, Golden Brown and Meteoroid Grey. The availability of the shade will be subject to the existing stock.
Its feature highlights include LED projector headlights with DRLs, LED fog lights, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an MID instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, a 4-speaker audio system, cruise control, paddle shifters, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop and power-folding ORVMs. For safety, the older Amaze is equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a rearview camera, and parking sensors.
Compared to the new model, it misses out on features like a bigger infotainment system, semi-digital driver’s display, rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, Type-C charging ports and six airbags. If you want a detailed comparison between the outgoing and the new-gen Amaze, we’ve covered that in this article.
Under the hood, it packs a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90PS and 110Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. However, it offers a slightly lower claimed fuel efficiency of up to 18.6kmpl compared to the new-generation Amaze.
So, let us know in the comments, will you be purchasing the older Honda Amaze?
