Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e: Unleashing An Electric Revolution

2300PS isn’t for the faint hearted. But that's the headlining figure the Gemera puts out in its full blown HV8 guise, which is a new world record for a production car. Koenigsegg has now given out the full fledged specification of what it calls its 4-seat mega car and things are a whole lot different as to what we saw when it was unveiled back in 2020. So let’s get cracking right away.
The Gemera debuted with a fairly impressive hybrid setup featuring an immensely powerful 2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine rated at 600PS with three electric motors collectively producing over 1700PS. Since then, the geniuses at Koenigsegg have been tinkering with the tech they offer on the record-setting Jesko, developing an enhanced version of the Light Speed Transmission (LST), now called the LSTT. They then came up with a new electric motor to complement it, ominously called the “Dark Matter”.
It is easily one of the most powerful electric motors out there, belting out a whopping 800PS! For your reference, most modern day cars need dual or even three motors to put that figure. The biggest advantage of a high-performance single electric motor is the fact that it saves so much on space and weight, making the hypercar lighter and even quicker.

But now here comes the part where petrol heads will be even more interested in. The Gemera features the same 5-litre V8 from the Jesko, with modifications to its exhaust layout, earning the Hot V8 or HV8 tag, so it can be accommodated in its tighter engine bay with the new LSTT. This engine puts out a whopping 1500PS! Combine the two and you have a staggering 2300PS to play with. Yes, we are not kidding here! To really hammer it home, that’s 1100PS more than the original Bugatti Veyron in a “family” hypercar.
Obviously, with so much power on hand, the Gemera HV8 drives all four wheels and gets torque vectoring to ensure it’s evenly distributed to all four wheels. As for its performance numbers and times, they are sadly not out yet. But we do suspect a couple of records to be broken when this one comes to the real world.

If 2300PS is a bit too much for you to handle and you’d be okay with a 1000PS less, you can still have the original Gemera Freevalve three-pot turbocharged engine instead. With the new Dark Matter e-motor, it’s now rated at a total output of 1400PS.
It goes without saying that Koenigsegg is pushing the limits when it comes to hybrid technology, especially if you’re willing to pay a few millions for it. That said, if you had your eyes one one, you gotta be quick as only 300 cars will ever be made. With these power figures, a few of its alternatives include Rimac Nevera and Pinifarina Battista but they don’t have seats in the back for family and friends.
