The next-generation three-row MPV takes passenger comfort to a new level compared to its predecessor

  • New Innova Hycross will be launched in India on November 25.

  • To be offered in six and seven-seater layouts, the captain-chair variant to be more premium.

  • Will offer premium features such as rear-facing touchscreens and ample coverage from the panoramic sunroof.

  • Expected to cost between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

After its global unveiling in Indonesia, the Toyota Innova Hycross is Indiabound, with its launch due on November 25. It’s an all-new MPV that doesn’t share much, apart from its name, with the existing Innova Crysta. Among all its improvements, it offers a plusher cabin experience for its middle-row passengers.

Room to relax

The Innova Hycross is only slightly longer and wider than its predecessor; but crucially, it has a 100mm longer wheelbase, opening up more room inside the cabin. It will be offered in six and seven-seater layouts with either a second-row bench seat or a pair of captain seats.

Moreover, the Innova Hycross will have a panoramic sunroof that extends to the middle row, allowing rear passengers to have the same roomy, premium cabin experience as the front seats.

If you prefer to be chauffeured around, the second-row captain seat variant will offer the most premium seating experience in the Innova Hycross. It’ll come with an electric reclining function and an Ottoman built into the seat! So finding the right seating position will now be a cakewalk. Plus, the captain seat variants get S-Class-like leg rest, further adding to the comfort quotient.

Keeping you entertained

The Innova Hycross MPV’s second row will be offered with a pair of 10-inch rear-facing screens for the rear passengers. The entire cabin is generously upholstered in premium materials with a two-tone colour scheme on select variants. If you choose the captain-seat option, it comes with a fixed centre console with cupholders.

The Innova Hycross will offer a more premium cabin than its predecessor alongside upmarket interiors. However, do keep in mind that many of the features discussed above will be limited to the higher-spec or top-spec variants, coming at a premium price. Nevertheless, the Innova Hycross, which is expected to be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), will punch farther above its predecessor, rivalling the Kia Carnival with its creature comforts.
