  • Will get a host of powertrain options: turbo-petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid.

  • Will charge a premium over the outgoing model when it launches in India in 2024.

Thanks to fresh spy shots, we’ve got a look at the facelifted Skoda Kodiaq’s cabin ahead of its global debut this year. Skoda itself has been teasing the upcoming Kodiaq, giving us new deets about it, but this is the first time we’ve gotten a dekko at its cabin, so let's get cracking.

Bigger is better

Not sure if that really is the case in terms of functionality, but both the screens – 10.25-inch for the digital driver’s display and 12.9-inch for the infotainment system – have a premium visual appeal to them and looks upmarket. The papped images only showcase the upper part of the dashboard, which seems to be free of any physical buttons or knobs, but Skoda did say there will be physical controls for easier usability.

The bezel for the central display is slim and the design for the two-spoke steering wheel is similar to what we’re used to on current Skoda models. Interestingly, the central screen sports an undisguised image of the Kodiaq’s front end, further revealing new styling deets of the SUV.

Design

We know the facelift is going to be an evolution of the outgoing model rather than a full-fledged overhaul. The same is reiterated by the graphic on the screen, which showcases a slightly revised nose with changes to the grille, both above and below. Previous teasers have hinted towards a sloping roofline and slightly revised alloys, while we expect a sharper set of tail lights at the rear.

Skoda recently divulged that the facelifted Kodiaq will be available with a slew of powertrain options including turbo-petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Drivetrain configurations will include front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive and you can know all about its powertrain specifications here. We expect Skoda to skip the diesel engine option for India and offer it with the 2-litre TSI engine, like the current car.

The facelifted Skoda Kodiaq could come to India post its global debut, sometime in early 2024. Expect Skoda to charge a significant premium over the current model, which is sold from Rs 37.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will continue to go head-to-head with three-row SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Jeep Meridian.
