Maruti Will Announce The Prices Of Its Flagship Grand Vitara SUV On This Date

  • New Grand Vitara mild hybrid to be offered in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be launched in India on September 26 as the carmaker’s flagship SUV. It’ll slot above the existing Brezza subcompact SUV, packed with premium features and manual and automatic transmission options. 

It will be offered in four broad trim levels, with the strong hybrid limited to the top-spec Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants. 

Maruti Grand Vitara to be a well-equipped SUV 

In its top spec, the Grand Vitara offers a wide range of premium features including a nine-inch touchscreen, premium Arkamys-tuned sound system, panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. The strong hybrid version also gets a head-up display (HUD) and digitised driver’s display.

Its safety kit includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and hill assist. A hill descent feature is exclusive to the AllGrip all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant. 

Which engines will be offered on Grand Vitara?

As standard, the Grand Vitara offers a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid system and a five-speed manual gearbox. This engine and gearbox combination is also offered with the AWD system; a six-speed automatic option with paddle shifters is available on the 2WD variants. 

The Grand Vitara is the first Maruti vehicle to offer a strong hybrid option with a Toyota-sourced 1.5-litre petrol engine and e-CVT transmission. It offers a combined power output of 116PS, 13PS more than the standard 103PS engine.
