Maruti Has Over 56,000 Pending Orders Of Grand Vitara, Wait Time Rises To 9 Months

The new Grand Vitara is Maruti’s first take on the compact SUV space in the country and it has been doing fairly well since launch. We say this because, ever since its order books opened in July, the SUV has been racking up orders which has resulted in high waiting periods. Maruti commenced deliveries of the car in late September.

Currently, the SUV has a maximum waiting period of nine months in Noida and Ghaziabad, although on an average, the waiting period spans between two to four months in most cities. The pending order count for the month (start of November) racks up to 56,000 units and we don’t expect this number to come down anytime soon as the marque has around 3.88 lakh pending orders in total.

Add to that the upcoming CNG variants of the SUV and the waiting period and pending order tally will only go higher and higher. The Grand Vitara CNG will become the thirteenth car in Maruti’s portfolio to boast a CNG option. The carmaker retails the SUV from its NEXA outlets with prices ranging between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
