The missing piece in the Innova Hycross’ puzzle has been found! Toyota India has announced prices of its latest MPV, the Innova Hycross, which begin from Rs 18.30 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The MPV is offered in five broad trims and can be had with either a petrol or a petrol strong-hybrid powertrain.

The petrol engine is limited to the first two trims, while the strong-hybrid powertrain is limited to the top three. Like before, the MPV can be had with either a bench or captain seats for middle row occupants.

Take a look at the MPV’s detailed price list:

The Toyota Innova Hycross is a revolutionary model (for a car bearing the Innova moniker) underneath its beefy and rugged clothes. For starters, the MPV is based on the TNGA-C monocoque platform instead of the traditional body-on-frame chassis. Also, it now spins its front wheels instead of the rear ones, which was usually the case with Innovas up until now.

There’s no diesel engine on offer. Instead, you get a 174PS 2-litre petrol and 186PS 2-litre petrol strong-hybrid powertrain choices, coupled with a CVT and e-CVT, respectively. The strong-hybrid unit, Toyota claims, will deliver 21.1kmpl mileage and can do 1,097km on a single tank of fuel. It’s also quick, with a claimed nought to 100kmph time of around 9.5 seconds. The Innova Hycross is also feature-loaded, with top highlights being ADAS, ventilated front seats, a large panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control, 360-degree camera and digital driver’s display. Other notable features include a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger and six airbags.

With these changes, the latest Innova is no more the affordable MPV it used to be once. Rather, it’s now an apt rival to the Kia Carnival, while being a more premium option to the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and the Toyota Innova Crysta (which will be sold alongside the Hycross).
