This is the first price hike for the new-generation SUV, which creeps closer to the Rs 30-lakh price mark for its top-spec trim

  • Toyota Innova Hycross prices hiked by up to Rs 75,000.

  • MPV gets a new hybrid VX(O) trim.

  • This new trim sits between the VX and ZX trims, filling up the massive price gap.

  • New prices range from Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.72 lakh (ex-showroom).

The first price hike for the Toyota Innova Hycross since its launch back in late December is here and it brings with it a new hybrid trim to its lineup. The new VX(O) Hybrid trim, priced at Rs 26.73 lakh for the seven seater and Rs 26.78 lakh for the eight-seater version, sits between the VX and ZX trims. The price hike brings a uniform bump of Rs 25,000 for the petrol trims, while the hybrid trims are now more expensive by Rs 75,000. Here’s a complete price breakdown:

What does the new trim get?

The VX(O) trim, as the name suggests, takes the VX trim as a base and builds on it by borrowing features from the ZX trim. The 10.1-inch touchscreen system, a panoramic sunroof and six airbags, which were exclusive to the top ZX and ZX(O) trims, have trickled down to the new variant, so you don’t have to go all the way to the top-end for the niceties. It is available in both seven- and eight-seater configurations and gets the MPV’s hybrid powertrain.

That said, features like an eight-way powered driver’s seats, ventilated front seats, a nine-speaker JBL sound system including a subwoofer and powered tailgate are still only available with the ZX trim, while the ADAS is a fitment exclusive to the top-spec ZX(O) trim.

As for what’s powering the MPV, there’s an option of a petrol-only powertrain with an output of 174PS and a strong-hybrid powertrain with a combined 186PS output. Transmission duties are carried out by a CVT and e-CVT gearbox, respectively.

The first price hike brings an end to the Innova Hycross’s introductory prices. The MPV is now retailed between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 29.72 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Kia Carnival, but the Toyota Innova Crysta,  Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo can be considered as affordable alternatives.
