Video Review: How Quick Can Toyota Innova Hycross Be With A Full Load

The Innova has held up to Toyota’s reputation of longevity and reliability ever since it was first launched in India. Now, its third-generation avatar, the Innova Hycross, has big shoes to fill. We put it to the test to see how it works as a more premium people mover: 

The Innova Hycross is an all-new MPV, sharing only one thing with the Innova Crysta, the first part of its name. This, alongside the front-wheel drivetrain and lack of a diesel engine might concern some potential buyers. We parse out the nitty-gritty in the video, finding out that even with a full load of passengers, it manages a decently quick zero to 100kmph time of around 14 seconds. 

It’s based on a monocoque platform (the Crysta was body-on-frame), with a longer wheelbase and larger dimensions than its predecessor. It has a premium cabin with soft-touch materials and an impressive list of features. 

The Innova Hycross takes the fight to a segment above with its reclining seats and panoramic sunroof, among a smattering of other equipment that we’ve detailed in the video.
