The Maruti Invicto is the latest offering to come out of the Nexa dealership and it is in fact their most expensive one yet. Given its hefty price tag, naturally, there are a set of preconceived standards one would expect the Invicto to follow. While it does live up to most of those expectations, it does have a few weaknesses to consider for those planning to buy one.
Watch our Associate Editor reveal the 3 biggest pros and cons of the Maruti Invicto after spending some time behind its wheel:
The pros are pretty straightforward: extremely practical, fuel efficient (of course, it is a strong-hybrid afterall), and feature-loaded (duh!).
But the first point in the reel is what stands out a bit. As Tushar mentions its spaciousness, he reiterates that the Invcito can seat 6-foot people in the middle row comfortably and still have a decent amount of boot space to spare. Practical indeed.
As for the cons: quality of materials in someplace inside, no ADAS functionality and the absence of the Toyota badge.
Now, not having a few upmarket features, most of which are discretionary, is something that people can overlook. But the cabin plastics not being up to the mark, especially for a car that costs around Rs 30 lakh on-road is a slight letdown. That being said, you still get plenty of soft-touch materials inside the cabin.
As for the last con Tushar mentions, it probably is the thing that matters the most to a few (read Toyota loyalists here) – brand value. Adjectives like reliability and practicality are synonyms with Toyota, and that brand image is partially down to the hardships faced and overcome by the Innova, which cemented those values. While the Invicto is essentially the same car on paper, it does not carry the legacy that defines the MPV it is based on.
So if you can look past those specific cons, the Maruti Invicto is a great alternative to the Innova Hycross, especially if you want one on priority with lesser waiting. We’ve done a thorough comparison between the two, and you can read about their differences and similarities here.

Maruti retails the Invicto in two broad trims, prices for which range between Rs 24.79 lakh and Rs 28.42 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from its rebadged sibling, it can be considered as a premium option to the Kia Carens and Toyota Innova Crysta.
