Have your eyes set on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Invicto? Then we have some good news for you. The carmaker has officially opened bookings of its upcoming 3-row MPV for a token of Rs 25,000 ahead of its launch, which is slated on July 5. The Invicto is nothing but Maruti’s version of the Innova Hycross and will go on sale via the carmaker’s premium Nexa outlets.

This is the first time a Toyota model has been rebadged as a Maruti Suzuki in India, and boy, what a debut rebadged model it is for the carmaker. The MPV’s images have been fully leaked, giving us a look at its design changes. It will get a Grand Vitara-like grille, tweaked bumpers and dual-tone alloys over the Hycross.

The Invicto will also get a handful of new features that are a first for a Maruti Suzuki. These include ADAS, powered driver’s seat with memory function, a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control and semi-powered ottoman’s seat (for the captain seat variant). It should get the rest of the kit from the Innova Hycross, which you can read about in detail here

Maruti should offer the Invicto with both the 176PS 2-litre petrol and 186PS 2-litre strong-hybrid powertrain options. Both engines drive the front wheels and are teamed with a CVT and e-CVT, respectively. To know our driving impressions, check out our in-depth first drive review of the Toyota Innova Hycross.

We suspect the Maruti Invicto’s pricing to be in the same ballpark as the Toyota Innova Hycross, which ranges from Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from the donor car, it will be a premium alternative to models such as the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta.
