Hyundai has gone bold with the 2023 Verna’s design. Up front, it gets a large grille that dominates most of the fascia, flanked by a pair of split-LED headlights. Similar to new-age Hyundais like the Ioniq 5, there is a LED strip running across the entire width of the front-end.

The profile of the sedan is dominated by plenty of sharp lines and creases. Accentuating that sporty look is the coupe-like sloping roofline. And depending on the powertrain you pick, you get dual-tone or all-black alloys with the naturally aspirated petrol and turbo-petrol engine options, respectively.
At the rear, the sedan gets L-shaped sleek tail lamps connected by an LED strip. A minimalist styled rear bumper rounds off the overall design. Like the bold approach Hyundai has taken for the 2023 Verna’s design? Let us know in the comments below.
The Verna gets a minimalistic dashboard design, which takes heavy influence from the more premium Ioniq 5, styling wise. It gets integrated screens housing the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Venue-like digital driver’s display. Below that are the sleek AC vents running across the width of the dash, while splashes of ambient lighting up the ambience.
One of the main focuses this Verna addresses is rear legroom. The 70mm longer wheelbase has translated into a roomier rear cabin, which seems more spacious than the outgoing model. Chauffeur-driven owners will also appreciate the fact that it gets amenities like charging ports, rear AC vents and a sun shade.
The Verna has a 528-litre boot volume. It also gets a nifty feature, where you can open the boot by just swiping your leg underneath the rear bumper. Useful, if you have your hands full.
This brings us to the features list. Top new additions in the 2023 Verna include powered driver’s seat, a Bose sound system, heated and ventilated front seats (former a segment first) and mainly, presence of ADAS. It also gets a sunroof, wireless phone charger, electronic parking brake, six airbags and electronic stability control.
The Hyundai Verna goes petrol-only for its latest generation. It gets either a 115PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. A six-speed manual is offered as standard, while automatic options include CVT and seven-speed DCT for the NA petrol and turbo-petrol, respectively.
Prices of the new-generation Hyundai Verna range between Rs 10.9 lakh and Rs 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory prices). The sedan comes in four trims and you can look at variant-wise pricing in our detailed launch story. The 2023 Verna rivals the Skoda Slavia, VW Virtus, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and facelifted Honda City.
