Ducati recently unveiled the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini and as the name suggests, it’s not a regular Diavel 1260 but a Lamborghini-inspired Diavel 1260. Here’s everything you need to know about Ducati’s latest offering.
For the first time, Ducati and Lamborghini joined forces to create a motorcycle. The result is a Diavel 1260 inspired by the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. Its production will be limited to 630 units worldwide.
A glance at the new Diavel and you can see that carbon fibre has been used in abundance. The air intakes, radiator cover, exhaust shield, spoiler, central tank cover, seat cover, front and rear mudguards, dashboard cover and headlight frame are also made of carbon fibre.
By now, it’s clear that weight saving has been one of the priorities if not the only. So, the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini sits on freshly designed forged wheels. Thanks to all these alterations, the bike tips the weighing scale at 220kg dry, a good 24kg lighter than the standard one.
The livery for the new Diavel 1260 is exactly the same as its inspiration, the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. While the body is covered in Gea Green colour, the seat tail, tubular trellis frame and the forged wheels are prettified with the Electrum Gold colour.
There’s also that touch of Ducati Red with the Brembo M50 radial-mounted brake callipers covered in the paint.
The ‘63’ on the air intakes stands out. It’s the year the Sant'Agata Bolognese manufacturer came into existence. The said number has been the deciding factor for the 630 units of the Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini. On the right-hand side of the bike, Ducati has placed an aluminium badge on the frame that bears the serial number for each bike from the total 630 units.
Every owner of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini will also be able to purchase an exclusive helmet with special graphics coordinated with the bike, designed by the Centro Stile Ducati.
During the start-up phase, the TFT screen welcomes you with the logos of both the brands followed by the silhouette of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini.
The powerhouse for the Italian motorcycle is a Euro 5-compliant 1,262cc Ducati Testastretta DVT motor with variable timing. It delivers 162PS and 129Nm. We don’t yet know the prices but one can assume that such a collector’s item won’t come cheap.
