You thought you would have to wait until February 23 to have a proper look at the new Baleno. But if you can’t wait until then, you’re at the right place as we have got all the important images of the facelifted premium hatchback. So without further ado, here are all the details about the upcoming Baleno in 10 detailed images.
Up front, the grille with the chrome underlining has now become a size larger, while the LED headlights are now sleeker with new tri arrow-shaped DRLs. It also gets a redesigned front bumper that adds to the bold look of the fascia.
Sadly, mildly revised alloy wheels are the only update that has been made to the profile.
At the rear, the LED tail lamps now feature similarly styled elements from the DRLs and are now split units. The reflectors on the bumpers have been positioned slightly higher up as well.
There are four new colours on offer: Opulent Red, Luxe Beige, Grandeur Grey, and Splendid Silver. These options are joined by two existing colours: Nexa Blue and Pearl Arctic White.
Inside, the Baleno gets a new black/blue dual-tone dashboard with plenty of contrasting silver highlights. On focus is Maruti’s new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The AC vents and climate control knobs have been redesigned while the steering wheel has been lifted from the Dzire.
Other new features on offer include a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charger, and an Arkamys tuned sound system. Creature comforts like an automatic climate control, keyless entry with push button start, cruise control, and auto-LED headlights have been retained.
Passenger safety has also been improved, with new additions like six airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors as well as electronic stability control and hill hold for the AMT variants.
The Baleno gets new black-blue upholstery that gels well with the dashboard’s new theme. Rear seat occupants are also treated with rear AC vents to keep themselves comfortable while the USB charging points ensure your devices are always topped up. You can also fold down the rear seat in a 60:40 ratio for better practicality.
The Baleno will get just the 90PS 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual and optional 5-speed AMT. No mild-hybrid nor CVT this time around. And in terms of fuel efficiency, the Baleno MT delivers 22.34kmpl, while the AMT returns 22.94kmpl.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is expected to be priced from Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be offered in six broad trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta (O) , Alpha, and Alpha (O), of which the Zeta (O) and Alpha (O) are all-new variants. Once on sale, the new Baleno will lock horns with the Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, and the upcoming facelifted Toyota Glanza.
