Maruti Suzuki has launched the fourth-generation 2024 Swift in India, priced between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2024 Swift not only showcases an updated design with revamped interior, but also gets a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the outgoing four-cylinder unit. Up front, the new-gen Swift presents a sharper design with a new octagonal grille that appears to be wider and dominates the face.
It also features redesigned LED headlights with DRLs with a ‘L’ signature. , and an updated skid plate. The smoked effect does give it a nice sporty vibe.

Overall, the front-end appears sportier than that of the outgoing model.
The profile retains the familiar silhouette which we are familiar with, but keen eyed viewers will notice a handful of differences, which we have detailed below.
For starters, you get restyled 15-inch dual-tone alloys that gives it a nice premium vibe.It must be noted that rim size is identical to the outgoing model.
Additionally, the 2024 Swift features conventional rear door handles, replacing the C-pillar mounted door handles in the current model.
Moving on to the rear, the 2024 Swift, once again, has a familar design, but with refreshed styling cues.
Prominent of which include new clear lens LED tail lamps with an inverted C-shaped motif and an updated bumper. The rear overall maintains a similar outline for the tailgate and tail lamps.
Inside, the 2024 Swift gets a brand new dashboard layout, similar to the Fronx, with an all-black theme.
The highlight here is the 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also gets connected car tech functionality, allowing owners to view vital stats and operate certain features from their smartphone.
Right below the infotainment system are sleek AC vents and right below that, it now hosts toggle switches for climate control, resembling those found in other Maruti models like the Fronx and Baleno.
Silver accents adorn the dashboard, door handles, and steering wheel, completing the cabin's overall look.
Apart from the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new features in the 2024 Swift include a wireless phone charger.
The driver gets to grip on a chunky three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls on the left and cruise control buttons on the right. And behind it are the new analogue dials with red dials (yummy!) and a coloured 4.2-inch multi-info display.
On the safety front, the 2024 Swift gets six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts and rear parking sensors with camera.It misses out on ADAS which is present in the international-spec model.
Underneath the hood, the 2024 Swift is powered by a new 82 PS/ 112 Nm 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is paired to either 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission.
The new 1.2-litre petrol engine delivers a claimed mileage of 24.80 kmpl for manual transmission and 25.75 kmpl for automatic transmission variant.
Prices for the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift start from Rs 6.49 lakh and go up to Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios while being a hatchback alternative to Tata Punch, Renault Triber and Nissan Magnite.
