The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available in a total of six broad trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta Plus, and Alpha Plus. Prices for the new compact SUV range between Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom). We have managed to get some pictures of the Grand Vitara’s base-spec trim. And if you’ve had your eyes set on one, here are all the details of the entry-level variant in five images:
The Grand Vitara’s entry-level variant looks bang identical to the standard model up front. However, you get halogen projector headlamps instead of LED units found in the higher-end variants. In profile, the SUV rides on steel wheels with plastic covers, while connected LED tail lamps round off the overall design.
Inside, the compact SUV gets the black/maroon theme as is the case for all mild-hybrid variants. While there isn’t an infotainment system on offer, Maruti has provided this trim with steering-mounted audio controls, which can be programmed with aftermarket units. Plus, the entry-level SUV gets fabric upholstery, as opposed to leatherette seat covers in higher end variants.

Other notable features include automatic climate control, keyless entry with push button start, a coloured multi-info display, electronically adjustable and folding ORVMs, and rear AC vents. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and rear parking sensors. Decently kitted out, we would say.
The entry-level variant gets just the 103PS, 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. This engine can be had with optional automatic transmission and all-wheel drive in the higher end trims. Maruti offers the Grand Vitara with a 116PS, 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine as well.
The Grand Vitara’s entry-level trim is priced at Rs 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and fights it out with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, MG Astor, and the Toyota Hyryder. You can also consider it over sub-4 metre SUVs like the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon.
