The new Skoda Kylaq has been revealed ahead of launch. Available in four broad trims, it is offered with five different body colours and a new cabin theme. Although it currently lacks a dual-toned roof, Skoda might reserve this for a special edition later, similar to what they did with the Kushaq and Slavia.
In this story, we’ve detailed all the available colours. So if you’re considering buying the Kylaq, you can save the effort of picking between the options later on.
This green hue mixed with a golden tinge makes a debut in Skoda’s lineup and certainly looks distinctive to the Kylaq’s identity.
This vibrant bright red colour rolls down to the Kylaq following the Kushaq and the Slavia and it's sure to tick off the sportiness quotient.
It couldn’t get darker than this bold and menacing black hue. It looks quite different from the Slavia’s rather grayish shade with the same name. For a completely black look, you can get the lip and rear cladding blacked out post delivery.
Not sure what’s brilliant about it, but the shade does render a classy and sophisticated look to the sub-compact SUV. The silver skid plates at the front and rear also complements this shade and the design rather well.
While the white is adding to its elegance, all the black accents in the door claddings, the grille, roof rails and in fact the dual-tone alloys provide a good contrast. That contrast is further highlighted by the cladding on the front and rear bumper.
The Skoda Kylaq comes well equipped with features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, powered and ventilated front seats, keyless entry and a sunroof.
For safety, you get 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-hold assist and a reverse parking camera with sensors.
Many call it the baby Kushaq and justifiably so, as it brings the same 1-litre turbo-petrol engine under its hood, which has an output of up to 115 PS and 178 Nm. For transmission options you get a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
The Skoda Kylaq starts at a price tag of Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and we’ll be getting to know its full prices on December 2. You can check out its booking and delivery timelines in this story. Once the SUV hits the Indian market it will be a potent rival to the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Nissan Magnite.
