Tata has officially revealed the 2023 Harrier. The 5-seater SUV undergoes a major overhaul in terms of design and also gets plenty of new features. Pre-launch bookings for the 5-seater SUV are underway. And if you want to take a closer look at the SUV, here’s our image gallery giving you all the details in 10 detailed pictures:
The 2023 Tata Harrier features a noteworthy design update inspired by the Curvv concept, giving it a stylish and modern appearance. It boasts a redesigned closed-off grille with silver inserts and a connected LED DRL strip stretching across the car's width. Below the grille, you'll find a triangular housing, which features new LED headlights and fog lamps. The bumper has also been revised, contributing to its overall more aggressive aesthetic.
In the side profile, aside from the newly styled wheels and 'Harrier' badging on the front doors, no significant alterations have been implemented.
Moving to the rear, you'll notice a fresh set of connected LED tail lamps and a revised bumper.
In terms of colour choices, you have a selection of seven options: Sunlit Yellow, Coral Red, Pebble Grey, Lunar White, Oberon Black, Seaweed Green, and Ash Grey.
Enter the updated Harrier, and you'll find a significantly redesigned dashboard with cleaner lines and design accents. It still boasts a floating infotainment system, now equipped with a larger 12.3-inch screen similar to the one in the Nexon EV. Just below it, you'll notice the stylish AC vents and the touch-sensitive controls for the new dual-zone climate control system.
Additional design updates include the introduction of a new 4-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo, as well as a gear lever for the automatic model inspired by Land Rover. The drive mode selector has also received an upgrade, now featuring a display in the middle.
The 2023 Harrier comes with a host of new features, including a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an additional knee airbag (for a total of 7), a powered tailgate with gesture opening, rear sunshades, and a powered co-driver's seat.
Features like ventilated front seats, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, electronic stability control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have been retained.
Note: Pre-facelift model's engine bay displayed
The Tata Harrier retains its 170PS 2-litre diesel engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The automatic variant now includes paddle shifters for more control. In terms of fuel efficiency, the manual version boasts a claimed 16.8kmpl, while the automatic variant delivers 14.6kmpl.
Given the substantial updates, the new Harrier is likely to come at a premium compared to the previous model, which had a starting price of Rs 15.2 lakh (ex-showroom). It will remain in competition with the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 5-seater, and Jeep Compass. Additionally, it will face competition from compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
