Honda’s Chinese arm Wuyang Honda has launched the 2021 CB190SS at CNY 16,980 (approximately Rs 1.98 lakh). The retro bike has received a few cosmetic and mechanical tweaks and here’s what should you know about it:
Firstly, the 2021 CB190SS retains the 184cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine but the ignition has been tweaked for better low and mid-range delivery. It claims to dish out 16.8PS at 8000rpm and 16Nm at 7000rpm against its predecessor’s 15.9PS and 15.3Nm. Moreover, Honda has also claimed a mileage of 35.71kmpl while the top speed is limited to 110kmph.
As for the cosmetic and functional tweaks, the new Honda CB190SS gets an asymmetric twin-pod instrument cluster. While the larger analogue dial houses the tachometer, the smaller digital pod gets the speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, clock and gear position indicator. Overall, quite a neat setup.
The single-piece handlebar remains unchanged but has been positioned lower than before. This should make for a tad bit of sporty riding posture.
It has retained the fascia from the previous model although the rectangle turn indicators have been replaced with circular ones. The fuel tank shape and the shrouds have also been redesigned. Additionally, the side panels have been completely updated and now get brushed stainless-steel covers as well.
Last but not least, the suspension and braking hardware remain the same but the 2021 Honda CB190SS gets new Zhengxin block-pattern rubber.
Wuyang Honda has kept the bike exclusive to the Chinese market and it won’t make it to India. But if you are looking for a neo-retro offering with a similar price tag, check out the Honda CB350RS.
