2022 Renault Kiger With New Features Launched At Rs 5.84 Lakh

Renault India has given the Kiger minor updates as part of its MY2022 updates, with prices starting from Rs 5.84 lakh. As a part of its model year changes, the Kiger gets minor cosmetic revisions and new feature additions. No changes to the trim lineup, but the RXT (O), a step above from third-from-base RXT, can now be had with the turbo-petrol engine. Earlier, it was limited to the naturally aspirated motor.  

The cosmetic revisions are mainly for the turbo-petrol trim and they are similar to how Kia differentiates the HT Line and GT Line. So, the Kiger Turbo gets ‘TURBO’ decals on the side and red inserts on the alloy wheels’ hub caps. Plus, there is a subtle chrome strip that runs along the width of the tailgate and a skid plate on the front bumper. 

The easiest way to distinguish the 2022 model over the outgoing car is by opting for the new Metal Mustard (with optional black roof), which is a direct lift from the Triber. 

The red theme continues on the inside as well with a new red accent on the dashboard and new quilted seat upholstery with… you guessed it, red stitching. Also, the PM 2.5 AC filter is now standard, while the wireless phone charger is now factory fitted instead as an accessory. Plus, higher-spec trims get cruise control, which was absent before. 

No changes have been made to the mechanicals. The Kiger continues to get the choice of a 72PS 1-litre naturally aspirated and 100PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engines. A 5-speed manual is standard, while the NA petrol gets an optional 5-speed AMT and the turbo-petrol can be paired with a CVT. 

The addition of the new features now makes the Kiger a more tempting choice. Its rivals include the Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Hyundai Venue.
