Six-seater Variants Introduced

Probably one of the biggest updates for the XUV700, in our opinion, is the introduction of a six-seater option featuring captain seats in the middle row. A much-needed addition, considering all its competitors such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar get this option. The XUV700’s six-seater option is limited to the top-spec AX7 and AX7L variants.

Another addition to the XUV700 comes in the form of the new Napoli Black colour that makes quite an impression. While this paint option is available across all variants, opting for the higher-end AX7 and AX7L variants will result in all the shiny elements on the grille and wheels have also been blacked out, adding to the stealth factor. These two variants also get a dark chrome finish around the AC vents and central console.

Don’t prefer the black hue? Fret not, as the aforementioned higher-end variants now get the dual-tone colour option with a blacked-out roof that makes it look sportier.

Feature Additions And Enhancements

One more important enhancement made to the SUV is the introduction of ventilated front seats. Apart from that, the XUV700’s connected car tech has been updated with even more features as well via a firmware update. Lastly, the positioning of the ORVMs can also be saved to the driver seat’s memory function (both limited to the top-spec variant), which is useful when multiple people use the car.

Rivals

All of these updates now make the Mahindra XUV700 a better overall package, but we feel bits like the black hue, captain seats and ventilated front seats should’ve been offered from day one.

The XUV700 locks horns with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar while being an SUV alternative to models like the Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Suzuki Invicto.
