Triumph has launched the 2024 editions of Triumph Rocket 3, with the Rocket 3 Storm R coming at a price of Rs 21,99,000 and the Rocket 3 Storm GT costing Rs 22,59,000 (both prices ex-showroom). For perspective, the Rocket 3 R previously came at an ex-showroom price of Rs 19,90,000 and the Rocket 3 GT cost Rs 20,50,000.
The 2024 update has seen the bike undergoing a major upgrade in terms of performance. Now both the variants are more powerful than before. The Triumph Rocket 3 is still powered by the same 2458cc, liquid-cooled triple cylinder engine. With the 2024 update, the performance has been greatly improved and the motor now produces 15PS and 4Nm more than before. The engine now makes 182PS at 7000rpm and 225Nm at 4000rpm.
Additionally, the bike has also undergone a bit of styling changes as well. Now the bodywork features more blacked out components, most notably the exhaust pipes and wheel rims. Smaller components like the brake levers have also undergone a similar black treatment.
Lastly, the Rocket 3 in the international market is offered in 3 colour schemes: Carnival Red, Satin Pacific Blue, and Sapphire Black while the India-spec bike only comes in the Sapphire Black colour scheme.
In terms of underpinnings, the Rocket 3 has now received an updated 17-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheel with a ten-spoke cast aluminium design but other than that, the underpinnings remain largely unchanged.
On the features front, both bikes come with a full-colour TFT instrument console, keyless ignition, optimised cornering ABS and traction control supported by an IMU. There are 4 riding modes: road, rain, sport and a custom, rider-configurable one.
The riding modes adjust the throttle map and traction control setting to make it more suited to riding in different conditions. Other electronic aids include hill hold control and cruise control. Rocket 3 GT being the more touring friendly variant comes with a few additional features that enhance its touring capabilities such as a pillion backrest, taller windscreen and also heated grips.
Coming to rivals, the Rocket 3 doesn’t have any direct rivals and closest alternatives you can go for are the Ducati Diavel 1260 and the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob.
