2025 Vespa Scooter Range Launched In India

Vespa has launched the 2025 scooter range in India. The range includes two models: Vespa and Vespa S. Let’s have a detailed look at all the variants which the two models get, what features they come with and their prices. 

Vespa

The 2025 Vespa has been launched in India and the prices start from Rs 1,32,500 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). It is available in 125cc and 150cc engine capacities. It retains its iconic silhouette which is characterized by a circular LED headlight and a vintage looking design. The scooter is available in seven colour options: Verde Amabile, Rosso Red,  Pearl White, Nero Black, Azzurro Provenza, Blue and Pearl White and Orange and Pearl White. It gets a semi-digital instrument cluster along with an analog colour scheme. 

Vespa S

The Vespa S comes in two engine options as well:  a 125cc and a 150cc. The Vespa S 125 is priced at Rs 1,36,000 Rs 1,36,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). It gets a different design when compared to the Vespa:  a rectangular LED headlight, curvy body panels and a swooping rear end. The scooter is available in eight colour schemes: Verde Ambizioso, Rosso Red, Pearl White, Nero Black, Azzurro Provenza, Blue and Pearl White, and Orange and Pearl White. It gets an analog speedometer with a small digital display below it, which shows the fuel levels, trip meters and odometer. 

Vespa Tech

The Vespa Tech is available in two engine configurations: a 125cc and a 150cc. Vespa S 125 is priced at Rs 1,92,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). It shares the same design language as the Vespa but gets a crisp-looking TFT display. The TFT display has Bluetooth connectivity which allows for turn-by-turn navigation, call & SMS alerts, and music control. For added convenience, the Vespa Tech also comes with keyless ignition. It is available in 2 colour schemes: Energico Blue, and Grigio Grey. 

Vespla S Tech

The Vespa S Tech comes in two engine options: 125cc and 150cc. Vespa S Tech 125 costs Rs 1,96,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The Vespa S Tech gets a hexagonal headlight which is slightly different from the Vespa S. The scooter gets a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity that allows for turn-by-turn navigation, call & SMS alerts, and music control. It gets keyless ignition and comes in two colour options: Nero Black (Matte) and Pearl White.

Vespa Qala Special Edition

‘Vespa Oro’ is a special gold coloured variant which is exclusive to the Vespa S. Another special edition is the ‘Vespa Qala’. The Qala edition is exclusive to the Vespa Tech model which gets a unique paint scheme consisting of bronze coloured wheels and accents, and a mandala-inspired design on the body of the scooter. 

Engine and Underpinnings

All the 125cc Vespa scooters are powered by a 124.45cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 9.3PS at 7,000rpm and 10.1Nm at 5,600rpm, and is paired to a CVT. It gets a monocoque full steel body which is suspended leading-link front suspension and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a 200mm disc at the front and a 140mm drum at the rear with CBS (Combined Braking System) mounted on 11-inch front and 10-inch alloy wheels. It has a seat height of  770mm and a fuel tank capacity of 7.4 litres. 

The 150cc Vespa scooters are powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 11.2PS at 7,500rpm and 11.66Nm at 6,100rpm, and is paired to a CVT. The chassis and suspension remains the same as the 125cc scooters but it gets a 200mm disc at the front with ABS and a 140mm drum at the rear. It rides on a 11-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheel. The 150cc variants have a seat height of 770mm and a fuel tank capacity of 7.4 litres. 

ZigSays

The 2025 lineup of Vespa scooters is quite expansive. They have replaced the ‘SXL’ and ‘VXL’ monikers with Vespa and Vespa S to make it easier to understand. With an exorbitant price tag of Rs 1,32,000 for the base variant and Rs 1,96,000 for the Tech variant (both prices ex-showroom, Maharashtra), Vespa aims to position itself more as a lifestyle brand especially with the Qala Edition. Apart from the exclusive and premium colour schemes, the monocoque chassis is expensive to manufacture and is one of the contributing factors to its high price tag. Technically the 125cc Vespas go against other 125cc scooters such as the TVS Jupiter 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the Yamaha Fascino 125 in India, but Vespa aims to be a more premium, unique, attention-grabbing proposition with rich history to boot for discerning scooter enthusiasts.
