Bentley Bentayga EWB Launched In India Is A Luxury Stretch-limo SUV

• New Bentayga EWB is available to order in India in standard, Azure and First Edition variants.

Well-heeled Indians have a new reason to be excited – the Bentley Bentayga extended wheelbase (EWB) has made its India debut! It's available to order now in its standard as well as the ultra-luxurious Azure and First Edition specifications. The EWB is the Bentayga's long-wheelbase version, offering more rear legroom than the standard SUV alongside an extra helping of luxury features for rear passengers.

What's new in the Bentley Bentayga EWB?  

The Bentley Bentayga EWB has the same appealing front-end design as the standard SUV with oval headlights and an upright nose. You get a shiny chrome grille (vertically slatted in the Azure variant pictured), and the lower air dams and vents feature an intricate chrome mesh. 

From the side, the EWB variant’s longer rear seat room becomes more apparent with its massive rear windows and doors that are prominently larger than the front doors. The beautiful, gigantic 22-inch, 10-spoke chrome wheels give the massive SUV a perfect stance. 

At the rear, the Bentayga features flared fenders and a spoiler on top of the tailgate. The LED taillights have chrome surrounds and there’s more chrome trim on the bumper. 

How luxurious is it?

Inside, the luxurious SUV offers one of the most premium cabin experiences, upholstered front to back in bespoke, luxurious materials that cover every surface, from the dashboard and doors to the seats and headliner and even the smallest of knobs and buttons. Bentley will also offer a handful of customisation options, both on the outside and inside, with certain elements exclusive to the Azure and First Editions. 

Major feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, powered doors and tailgate and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats with 20-way adjustment. The Bentayga has a Naim sound system and offers a rear entertainment system with independent 10.1-inch touchscreens. It also gets a full suite of driver-assistance features part of the Touring Specification, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and even a night vision camera. 

But the real highlight is at the rear, where you can get the Bentley EWB with the Airline Seat Specification with multiple massaging, reclining and power adjustment options. The Airline Seat is no joke – the rear seats get their own climate control sensors that continuously monitor and maintain temperature and humidity levels. 

In addition, Postural Adjust keeps you in the most relaxed and well-supported position by making constant adjustments to the seat cushions. And topping the experience are the aforementioned rear-facing screens that allow you to watch your favourite videos on the move. 

The Bentayga EWB is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that makes a hulking 550PS and 770Nm, adequate to get this big, heavy SUV from 0-100kmph in a sports sedan-rivalling 4.6 seconds. 

Moreover, the Bentayga EWB has air suspension on all four wheels with Bentley Dynamic Ride to help while cornering. The SUV also has rear-wheel steering to make it more maneuverable in city driving conditions.

The Bentley Bentayga has a smorgasbord of rivals that include luxury SUVs such as the Range Rover in its top-spec Autobiography guise.  But the Bentayga EWB, especially its Azure and First Edition variants, only have one true rival, the other ultra-luxurious SUV on the block, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The standard-spec Bentayga EWB retails for an eye-watering price of Rs 6 crore onwards (ex-showroom), and the price goes up further for the Azure and First Edition specifications.
