Ather Energy has given us its most affordable electric scooter, the 450S! Here’s everything it gets:
Ather has priced the 450S at Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, exclusive of state subsidies), meaning it’s the same as the Ola S1. Other rivals include the TVS iQube S and the Vida V1 Pro.
The major change in the 450S is its smaller 3kWh battery pack, which again, is the same as the Ola S1. Consequently, its range has gone down to 115km, while the claimed top speed has remained constant: 90kmph. For perspective, the top-spec 450X’s 3.7kWh enables a 146km claimed range.
Ather claims that the 450S’ performance and features haven’t been hampered with. So it likely gets the same 7-inch colour-TFT touch-enabled console that’s loaded with features. We’ve reached out to the brand for further information about the scooter.
With the 450S, Ather is trying to offer something at different price levels, something that Ola is doing with its confusing but effective list of S1 Air, S1 and S1 Pro lineup. With the entry point into the Ather 450 family being a lot more affordable, Ather hopes to get more people to experience its electric scooters.
