Pune-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, BGauss, has launched the RUV 350 electric scooter in India. It replaces the brand’s flagship D15 electric scooter (now discontinued). It features a basic scooter design, similar to the D15, and gets the same 16-inch alloys.
What Is The Price & Rivals?
The BGauss RUV 350 comes in three variants: the RUV 350i EX is priced at Rs 1,09,999, the RUV 350 EX costs Rs 1,24,999 and the range-topping RUV 350 Max is available at 1,34,999, all prices ex-showroom with EMPS 2024 (Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024).
Moreover, all three variants get free insurance worth Rs 6,000, along with a free extended battery warranty. The mid and top variants also get a free BGauss connect app subscription worth Rs 8,000.
The base RUV 350i EX competes against the likes of Ola S1 Air, Ather 450S, Ampere Nexus EX, TVS iQube (2.2kWh) and Bajaj Chetak 2901. Whereas the top RUV 350 Max rivals premium electric scooters like Ola S1 Pro, Ather Rizta Z (3.7kWh), Ampere Nexus ST, and Bajaj Chetak Urbane.
What’s New?
The BGauss RUV 350 electric scooter gets an all-metal bodywork and is now made in India. It is equipped with an IP67-certified, hub-mounted motor that produces a rated power of 2.5kW, with a peak power of 3.5kW, and 165Nm peak torque. It has three riding modes: Eco, Ride and Sport. The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 75kmph in Sport mode.
The RUV 350i and RUV 350 EX have a claimed range of 90km and the top RUV 350 Max claims to deliver a range of 120km. BGauss offers three different chargers with the scooter. The 500W charger charges the battery from 0 to 100 in 6 hours and 50 minutes, whereas the 840W charger takes 3 hours and 55 minutes to fully charge and the 1350W charger does it in just 2 hours and 35 minutes.
The RUV 350 is equipped with an all-LED lighting setup. The base variant gets a LCD console whereas the mid and top variants feature a 5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity for call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. The console also gets two display modes, document storage, ride statistics and service reminders. It comes with a reverse mode, cruise control, hill holds assist and a side stand engine cut-off function. The electric scooter has a 15-litre underseat storage, 4.5-litre storage at the floorboard and a 2.2-litre mobile pocket. It also gets a USB charging port.

Moreover, the RUV 350 gets a single-shock absorber at the rear. With a kerb weight of 122kg, and gets a 150kg payload capacity. It has a seat height of 785mm and 160mm ground clearance.
What’s Unchanged?
While the RUV 350 is a new scooter, it shares a few parts with the BGauss D15. Built on a tubular chassis, it is equipped with a telescopic fork. Braking is handled by 130mm drum brakes on both ends. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 80-section front and 90-section rear tyres.
Zig Says
While the RUV 350 is the new flagship scooter from BGauss, it seems quite expensive for what it offers. The big 16-inch wheels may contribute to better handling as compared to its rivals. However, the scooter has a small boot storage as compared to its competitors. Adding to that, for the same price, there are other more powerful, reliable, practical and feature-loaded scooters available in the market that you can go for.
